Obituary For Sherri Lynn Mitchell Hazlewood

Sherri Lynn Mitchell Hazlewood, 57, of Eden, North Carolina, entered her eternal rest Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1968, in Stuart, Virginia, to Juanita Puckett Mitchell and the late Clarence Eugene Mitchell.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Nannie Kate Puckett; and paternal grandparents, Dillard & Mary Mitchell.

She was a woman of Christian faith and attended Compassion Church in Axton, Virginia, where she found a loving faith community. She was a leader for the Celebrate Recovery program for a while, bringing unconditional love and support to the ministry. Sherri was a graduate of Patrick County High School, class of 1986, and earned an associate’s degree from Patrick Henry Community College. She proudly served her community in the clerk’s office for 35 years, including the role of Clerk of Court which took place in 2018 until she retired.

Known as a ray of sunshine, Sherri was a free spirit who touched so many lives with her bubbly personality and nurturing attitude. The love and kindness she demonstrated made her the life of any gathering. She could be described as a woman of class, always beautifully dressed for any occasion. She loved adventures, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her son, Jordan. Whether they were on the lake or enjoying their season passes at Carowinds, she was always connected and intentional on making memories to last a lifetime. Her legacy of love and faith will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her mother, Juanita Puckett Mitchell, she is survived by her son, Jordan Robertson; brother, Darrell Mitchell (Penny); niece, Natalie Harpster (Daniel); nephew, Jacob Mitchell (Megan); great-nieces, Avery Mitchell, Annie Mitchell, Aubrey Harpster; and numerous extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Jammie Redd officiating. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.

Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
