Obituaries

Timmy Alston Pharr, 67, of Martinsville, Virginia, entered his eternal rest Sunday, December 28, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1958, in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, to the late Maurice Pharr and Nellie Alston Pharr.

He was of the Christian faith and a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Timmy graduated from Martinsville High School, Class of ’77, and was employed over twenty years as a DJ. He enjoyed caring for the fish which filled numerous aquariums in his home. He took pride in gardening and yardwork, and loved music.

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Wray (Jonathan), Ashley Spencer (Keaton); son, Jeriel Pharr; brothers, Maurice Pharr, Jr. and Steven J. Pharr (Juanita); and seven grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on a later date at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support that has been shown during their time of grief.
