Obituary For Vicky Branch
Vicky Branch, born March 15, 1965, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous year-long journey with terminal cancer.
Vicky was the kind of person who quietly held everything together. She spent her life taking care of those around her, often putting others’ needs before her own, and doing so with strength, steadiness, and deep love. In her final years, she found great pride and fulfillment in her work as an administrator for the Henry County Adult Detention Center, a role she truly loved and approached with dedication and compassion.
Outside of work, Vicky found joy in simple, meaningful things. She loved fishing, quilting, sewing, and crafting, and her hands were rarely still. Many of her creations were gifts of love, made with care and intention, just like everything else she did.
Above all, Vicky loved her family fiercely. She was a devoted wife to Cecil Branch and a proud, loving mother to Tia Carter (Marcus), Misty Moecker (SJ), and Danielle Hooker (PJ). She cherished her role as grandmother to Tre English, Anja English, Jesse Branch, Carly Branch, and Declyn Carter, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Vicky is survived by her mother, Gloria Ross; her aunt, Faye Handy, who she called her second mom; her sisters, Karen Ganley and Regina Moore (Kent); and her brother, Christopher Ross (Nicole). She was preceded in death by her father, Bunyan Cannaday.
She also held close a special friendship with LeeLee Brown and Tracy Cornett, whose bond and support meant so much to her.
Vicky’s legacy is one of care, devotion, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her love, her example, and the many ways she showed up for others. She will be deeply missed, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Vicky’s memory to the American Cancer Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Bassett Funeral Service is honored to serve the Branch family.
