Obituaries

Virgie Ashworth Taylor, 82, of Axton, passed Thursday May 14, 2026. She was born May 6, 1944, to the late William Elderidge and Winnie Bray Ashworth. Virgie retired from VA. Logistics and was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harden Taylor, Jr.

Surviving are five sons; Donald Chris, Timothy DeWayne, Terry Lee, Bobby Ray, and Adam Keith Taylor, four brothers; Jimmy Donald, Billy Ray, and Randy Eldridge Ashworth, one sister, Linda A. Bray, eight grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with Rev. Daniel Hester officiating, Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00 Noon, in the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.
