Walter Albert Williamson of Henry passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab. He was born on October 4, 1946, to the late Roy Williamson and Dora Manns Williamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, Tom Williamson, Robert Williamson, Chester Williamson, Bobby Donnell Williamson, and J.B. Wimbush; and by his two sisters, Margaret Ross and Sherby Cuff.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: two daughters, Sophia M. Adams and Krystal Staley; and two sons, Walter Williams and Hassan Bracy. He was a proud grandfather to four grandsons, Jaheim M. Hairston, Jamell Williams, Bryce Williams, and Lathan Staley; and two granddaughters, Amia Williams and MyAngel Williams. He is also survived by five sisters, Nannette Tinsley, Elsie Via, Linda Thomas (Mike), Sharon Johnson (David), and Debra Martin; two brothers, Raymond Williamson (Jacqueline) and Roger Williamson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In 1965, Walter moved from Virginia to New York with his sister, Nannette Tinsley. While there, he was employed for many years with General Motors Corporation, where he dedicated himself to his work. He later relocated to Ohio with three of his brothers and remained there for several years before ultimately returning home to Virginia. After returning, he worked at Jim Mills until his retirement.

Walter will be remembered for his strength, dedication to family, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with burial immediately afterward at Manns Family Cemetery.
