Obituaries

Walter Flood, 61, of Martinsville, Virginia, entered his eternal rest Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1964, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Eddie Randolph Flood and the late Doris Mitchell Flood.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Flood.

Walter was of the Christian faith and a member of Mt. Sinai Apostle Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing or hunting. He enjoyed watching television, particularly Naked and Afraid, The Price is Right, and Family Feud. Walter liked working on cars, but his greatest joy was in spending time with his family. Although his earthly presence is no longer with us, his legacy of love and faith will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Along with his father, those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Victoria Flood; daughters, Latoyia Martin, Oneshia Flood (Chris); sons, Marcus Martin (Tanisha), Tyrese Hazzard; sisters, Deborah Flood, Virginia Flood (Jeff), Diantha Williamson, Kimble Williamson (Edward); brothers, Darell Lawson, William Flood (Catreia), Michael Flood, Robert Williamson; nine grandchildren: and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Sinai Apostle Church with Bishop J.C. Richardson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2:00-5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. Family will receive friends daily from 2:30-9:30 PM at 909 Morgan Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
