Obituaries

Winnie Marie Dillard departed this life on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Community Hospital in San Bernardino, California. She was born in Henry County, Virginia to the late Josephine Dillard. She graduated from Albert Harris High School, Class of 1960. She also was a member of the Military, serving in the Air Force for eight years.

She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for several years before she retired.

She was a member of St. Paul’s High Street Baptist Church in Martinsville, Virginia for several years. Winnie was a very private person but would not hesitate to give due to her loving heart.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her only sister, Barbara Dillard Brimmer, of Martinsville, Virginia; nephew, Tracy (Deborah) Brimmer, of Kodak, Tennessee; niece, Cherie Brimmer of Martinsville, Virginia and Shelby Brimmer of Greensboro, North Carolina; special friend, Marion Williams; best friend and classmate, Marguerite Wilson; a host of cousins, great nephews, great nieces, one great-great nephew, and one great-great niece.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Carver Memorial Gardens with Rev. Matthew Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends at 17 Dunlap Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
