‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ special fan events coming on May the 4th

The force will be with Star Wars fans this May 4.
Lucasfilm is set to host special-look fan events for its upcoming film Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. All of the special events will take place on May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, at select IMAX theaters around the world.
The events will feature over 25 minutes of exclusive footage from the upcoming movie, fan giveaways and other surprises. One of the giveaways will be a brand-new, exclusive poster created just for this event.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is based on the Disney+ TV series The Mandalorian starring Pedro Pascal. Jon Favreau directed the movie, which stars Pascal alongside Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu,” according to the film’s official description.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theaters on May 22.

Nomination day has arrived for the 2026 Oscars.
The nominees in all categories for the 98th Academy Awards were revealed Thursday morning in a live presentation from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
Oscar-nominated actress Danielle Brooks and actor Lewis Pullman announced the nominations, which includes this year’s newest category: casting.
The 2026 Oscars will air on Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Kiefer Sutherland was arrested just after midnight early Monday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department told ABC News.
According to police, the radio call was for an alleged assault involving a ride-share driver near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles.
Sutherland is accused of allegedly assaulting the ride-share driver and entering the vehicle, according to police. The actor is considered to be the suspect and the driver the alleged victim, police said. No injuries required medical treatment in the incident.
The 24 actor was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats.
According to jail records, Sutherland posted $50,000 bond and is due in court on Feb. 2.
The Hollywood Division of the LAPD is investigating the incident.
Sutherland, known for his role as Jack Bauer in the action-packed 24 series, is the son of the late actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas.
He has won two Emmys and a Golden Globe for his work on 24.

Colman Domingo is set to host Saturday Night Live for the first time.
NBC has announced that Colman will make his Studio 8H debut to host the April 11 episode of the show. The Oscar nominee is promoting his upcoming projects The Four Seasons, Euphoria and Michael.
He will be joined by Anitta, who will serve as the show’s musical guest for the first time. The Grammy-nominated singer is promoting her new album, Equilibrium.
Also scheduled to host SNL is Jack Black, who will host the show for the fifth time on April 4. NBC initially made the announcement of Black’s hosting gig during the March 14 episode, which was hosted by Harry Styles. Black is promoting his upcoming animated film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which arrives in theaters on April 1.
Jack White will serve as the musical guest on the April 4 episode, marking his fifth time performing on the show. White is a 12-time Grammy winner and a 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
