Keke Palmer shares the valuable lesson she learned from Queen Latifah

Keke Palmer has survived years in the game, and her longevity is partially due to advice she received from Queen Latifah. During an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, she shared that she learned from her mentor the importance of letting her work speak for itself.
“People are watching even when you don’t think they’re watching,” Keke said, recalling a lesson she learned from Queen. “It’s not what you say. It’s what you do.” She noted that Queen once referred her for a role after seeing her work ethic, professionalism and more.
“I just remember thinking in that moment, ‘Wow, my work ethic precedes me,’” she continued. “The way that I continue to move into the game, it’s going to count for something at some point.”
Keke and Queen previously worked together on Barbershop 2: Back in Business as well as 2012’s Joyful Noise and Ice Age: Continental Drift. They are also set to appear on NBC’s The Voice: Celebrity, with Keke serving as host and Queen taking on a judge’s role.

Sharna Burgess is officially returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.
On Monday, the longtime DWTS pro announced on Good Morning America that she will compete on the upcoming 35th season of the hit dance competition series, marking her first time competing on the show since season 30 in 2021.
“I’m back! Some of you guys guessed it. Yes, I am here with a special announcement to finally confirm I’m back on Dancing with the Stars, baby,” Burgess said. “I’m going to be competing for that Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. I can’t wait to be back in the ballroom with my dancing family, and mostly it feels so good to be coming home. I’ll see you all soon.”
The upcoming season will mark Burgess’ 15th season competing as a professional dancer on DWTS.
Burgess previously took home the Mirrorball Trophy with radio personality Bobby Bones in 2018 during season 27. Her last season as a competing pro was season 30 in 2021, when she was partnered with her now-fiancé, actor Brian Austin Green.
Burgess’ return comes as excitement builds for season 35. Several celebrity contestants have already been announced, including Summer House star Ciara Miller, The Traitors star Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality Guillermo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will be partnered with returning pro Witney Carson.
The rest of the DWTS season 35 cast will be revealed Sept. 2 on GMA.
DWTS season 35 will debut with a two-night premiere Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, streaming the next day on Hulu.

Brad Pitt is getting candid about his life behind the scenes, opening up about sobriety and his mental health.
In a wide-ranging interview with Esquire published on Monday, the Academy Award winner said he’s no longer sober and that he had felt suicidal at one point over “family stuff.”
“I was sober for seven years,” Pitt said. “And then I got back off the wagon. In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities.'”
Pitt said he can drink a few glasses of wine now but added that he “can’t have a lot,” saying that he has to be “professional about it.”
Last year, the F1 actor opened up about his experience attending Alcoholics Anonymous. He also has previously credited Bradley Cooper for helping him get sober.
Elsewhere in the interview, Pitt opened up about the death of his mother in August 2025.
His mother’s death was one of several challenging moments he said he faced involving family, which he said led him to an especially low point in his life.
“I’ve never been suicidal except for one little period. And in that one little period, I just thought — I just couldn’t — just didn’t see a way out,” he said, describing the pain he felt at the time as “oppressive.”
“Yeah. Like, listen: This s*** ain’t easy,” he added. “And you’re talking to a guy who won the lottery.”
Pitt’s next movie role is in Heart of the Beast. He’s also a producer on the project.
Pitt plays Special Forces Officer James Belmont in the film, who, along with his combat dog Odin, finds himself “stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness,” according to a synopsis.
The film is directed by David Ayer and written by Cameron Alexander. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also star in it.
Heart of the Beast arrives in theaters on Sept. 25.
