Alfonzo Shelton, 55, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was born October 4, 1970, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late James Shelton and Virginia Rumley Shelton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin Rumley and Leonard Shelton; as well as the aunt and uncle who raised him, Early Estes, Sr. and Nannie Ruth Estes.

He loved working on cars and enjoyed writing stories. Alfonzo loved his family deeply.

Alfonzo is survived by his sisters, Lisha Wimbush (Donovan), Lucy Manns, Doretha Estes, Carolyn Holland, Wanda Barbour; brothers, Early Estes, Jr. (Linda), Allen Estes (Gerdie), Danny Estes (Marvel); nieces, Latrevia Shelton, Nikki Shelton, Alexis Shelton, Victoria Hughes; and nephews, Lamar Shelton, Jyrez Turner, Xavier Rumley, and Jordan Rumley.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service.
