Obituaries

Angela Elizabeth Calaman Troxell, 56, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in Martinsville, March 5, 1969, to John Bernard Calaman and Theresa Harmon Garvin.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Don and Mabel Calaman and her maternal grandparents, John and Dot Harmon; and Dale Garvin (Theresa’s spouse).

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Wales Troxell; children, Jonathan Michael Townsend (Heather Louise Townsend), Katherine Brooke “Katy Bug” Troxell, and Emily Jones Tucker (Johnny Luke Tucker, III); grandchildren, Jackson Wales Townsend, Ian Augustus Townsend, Bailey Reese Tucker and Conner Brennan Tucker; sister, Dorothy Brooke Gilbert; aunts, Felecia Calaman Childress and Sybil Lynn Harmon; her uncle John Doyle Harmon; and her two German Shepherds, Deacon and Sadie.

Angela worked 22 years as an international sales coordinator for Eastman Chemical Company and most recently worked at ProAmPac in Rocky Mount, Va.

She had a great fondness for all types of music and was an avid bird watcher. She loved her family and was a loving mother to a few and a loving mother to many.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 pm and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. J.D. Harmon.
