Anita Carol Childress, 61, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned from her earthly life Saturday, August 23, 2025. She was born July 21, 1964, in Martinsville, Virginia.

She was of the Christian faith and was incredibly loyal and protective of her family. Her favorite pastimes included listening to country and gospel music and completing crossword puzzles. Her creativity and talent were seen in the beautiful pieces she would crochet and knit. One of the things she enjoyed the most was taking rides in the car with Freddie.

Anita truly loved her family and her absence on this earth has left a hole in their hearts that will forever be filled with beautiful memories of a life well-lived. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Freddie, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years; their daughters, Samantha Hopkins, April Wright (Tommy), Jennifer Robinson; sisters, Rhonda Amos, Amanda Bowman (Norman); brother. Robert Reynolds; grandchildren, Russell Torrence, Alyssa Wright, Dedrick Robinson, Misha Robinson; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the love and support that has been shown during their time of grief.
