Obituaries

Elizabeth Ann Wilson Crenshaw, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia, ran into the arms of Jesus Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born in Bedford County, Virginia, on July 18, 1955, to Betty Jane Franklin Wilson and the late Alvin Linenburg Wilson.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel “Danny” Wilson and her sister-in-law, Sandra Wilson.

Ann was a woman of Christian faith who loved the Lord and was eager to share her wonderful Christian testimony. In her earlier years, she was part of the Methodist denomination and also attended an independent Baptist church; but recently enjoyed attending Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with her husband where they were part of a loving faith community. Ann held a BA in administration from Ferrum College and found meaningful careers in the administration office of a psychiatric hospital, as a paralegal at an attorney’s office, a director of her own daycare center for children, and most recently in behavioral health.

Her family were the recipients of her deep love, and her children were blessed with an amazing mother. Ann had a cheerful outlook and was a source of help to both her family and to others around her. Her home was always full of children. She loved to sing and enjoyed cooking and reading. With a heart full of love, Ann made everyone around her comfortable; her ability to pull off pranks filled the room with laughter. Although her physical presence is no longer here, her legacy of love and faith will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of eleven years, Carlton Crenshaw, Jr.; daughter, Ashleigh Dillon (Hunter); sons, Carlton Crenshaw (Megan), Bradley Crenshaw (Tina); brother, Jimmy Wilson; grandchildren, Alayna Dillon, Hannah Dillon, Jacob Crenshaw, Brody Crenshaw; mother, Betty Jane Wilson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilson; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, located at 7174 Mountain Valley Road, Axton, Virginia, with Pastor Robby Benfield and Pastor George Agnew officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
