Obituaries

Faye Donovant, 72, of Bassett, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born on September 3, 1953, in Kentucky to the late Everett Ritchie and Dorothy Bolen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Donovant, sisters, Mary Jo Blankenship, Christine Watson; brother, Danny Ray Brewster; and grandson, Tommy Ray Slone.

Faye was a member of Community Baptist Church for many years. She was married to her loving husband, Roy, for 20 years. Faye was a regular donor for the American Red Cross. She helped many people with this act of kindness. Faye had a love of reading, cooking, gardening, and yard work that went along with her love of being outdoors. She also had a love of music. She loved her family dearly spending time with them as often as she could. For more than 20 years Faye worked at Bassett Furniture before working and then retiring from Walmart.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Paula Elizabeth Ireland (Sam), sons; Donald Ray Slone (Kathy), Clarence Steven Slone; Brothers; Bud Brewster, Brian Brewster, and Michael Brewster; sister-in-law, Kim Roark; grandchildren; Samantha Pruitt (Cody), Katie Ireland, Donna Raye Minter (Justin), Katelyn McBride (John), Sammi Ireland, and Chloe Ireland with great-grandchildren; Kaylee, Brooks, Bubba, Everleigh, and Jaxson Ray along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of grief.
