Obituary For Leslie "Tony" Ray Capps
Leslie "Tony" Ray Capps, 77, of Ridgeway, Virginia, transitioned from his earthly life Thursday, August 28, 2025. He was born August 6, 1948, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late William David Capps and Virginia Dell Moore Capps.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Capps, William Capps, and Earl Capps.
Leslie proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving a tour in Vietnam. He retired from Sarah Lee after 15 years of dedicated employment in the dye house. In his retirement, he enjoyed working as a woodworker in the textile industry. He enjoyed fishing and listening to good music, particularly Janis Joplin and Creedence Clearwater Revival. He was known for telling great stories and making people laugh. Leslie will always be remembered as a good man who loved his family and shared Bible stories with them. He was a father who always set a good example and will leave an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Benjamin David Capps; stepson, Caleb Adam Warden; sister, Patricia Leftwish; brother, Jack Capps; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 @ 3:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Leon Burchett officiating. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Military honors wil be presented by The Martinsville & Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
