Obituaries

On January 13, 2026, Mr. Patrick Joseph Johnson, age 78 of Ararat, Virginia, went to be with the Lord. Mr. Johnson was born in Kent County, Delaware, on December 7, 1947, to the late Edward and Mabel Jean Maynard Johnson. Patrick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a faith member of Willis Gap Baptist Church and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Patrick Johnson and Lori; daughters and son-in-law, Sherrie Gadsby and Trent, Samantha Cobb; eight grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Edyn Johnson, Asher Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Kaithlyn Gadsby, Emily Gadsby, Lucas Gadsby, Avery Gadsby; and brother Michael Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife Judy Maynard Johnson; and sister Phyllis Stachowicz. No formal services will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
