Peggy Adkins Jamison, 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born on February 2, 1937, to the late Clyde Adkins, Sr. and Macy Bradner Adkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Randolph Jamison; son, John Jamison; brothers, James “Shorty” Adkins, Clyde “Junior” Adkins, Jr., and Dallas Leon Adkins; and son-in-law, Arvil “Walt” Carpenter.

Peggy worked for many years as the manager of the bookstore and Patrick & Henry Community College. She was a member of, and faithfully attended, Trinity Baptist Church in Martinsville, Virginia.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Carpenter; sister, Margie Shytle; granddaughter, Rebecca Smith (Tyler); and two great-grandchildren, Violet Smith and Phoenix Smith.

There will be a visitation with light refreshments on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville. A Funeral Service will take place beginning at 2:00 PM at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville, with the burial following at Jamison Family Cemetery in Snow Creek, Virginia.
