Obituaries

We announce with sadness the passing of Samuel (Sammy) Walker Janney on December 4, 2024 at the age of 59. Samuel was born October 17, 1965 to Linda and Headley Janney in Danville, VA.

He was a son, father, brother and uncle and is remembered for his moments of warmth, humor and willingness to show up for those he loved in times of need. His best qualities were true to the Janney name in that he had a loving heart and would help anyone he could through his skills as a mechanic or otherwise.

Sammy is survived by his children Joshua Walker, and Johnny Walker (Megan); his grandson Maddox Smith; his father Headley Janney; his sister, Tammy Liston (Randy). His niece and nephew Sarah (Nick) and Clayton Liston (Kayla). Great nieces and nephews Evie, Nicky, Olive and Sawyer. He was predeceased by his mother Linda Janney; and his grandparents Virginia and Samuel Overton; and John and Ruth Janney.

A visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of life Service at 1:00 PM with Minister Tim Wood officiating.
