MARTINSVILLE, VA- Just after midnight on April 10, officers received a call for a
suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Corn Tassel Trail. A resident had approached the man
in the vehicle, who was wearing body armor and other items similar to law enforcement
equipment. The driver of the car identified himself as a U.S. Marshal, stating he was
conducting surveillance in the area. The driver left the scene before police arrived.
The driver was later identified as Dominique Cornelius Grant, 36, of Collinsville. Grant was
arrested by Martinsville Police for Impersonation of a Law Enforcement Officer, 2nd or
subsequent offense. He is being held in the Martinsville City Jail without bond.
