‘It Ends with Us’ author Colleen Hoover reveals cancer journey

Bestselling author Colleen Hoover is sharing a health update with her many readers and fans.
The It Ends with Us author revealed she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment in an Instagram Story on Monday, writing, “Second to last day of radiation! I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @texas.oncology but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”
In a Facebook post on Friday, Hoover wrote that she had received test results back from a geneticist that explained her cancer did not stem from “family genes” and was not tied to HPV or hormonal factors.
She added that she was “happy and grateful to be alive.”
Hoover has not revealed the type of cancer with which she was diagnosed.
The author was noticeably absent from the October 2025 premiere for the movie Regretting You, which was adapted from her 2019 book of the same name.
“I’m super bummed, but am having an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while,” Hoover wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul says she is going through a “heavy time” as she faces a domestic violence allegation while promoting her new season of The Bachelorette.
“It’s been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during this time of The Bachelorette being released,'” Paul said in a live interview Wednesday on Good Morning America. “It’s supposed to be a really exciting time.”
She continued, “I’m a person that will always speak my truth. That’s what I’m known for. So when the time is right, I will be.”
Paul is reportedly facing a domestic violence allegation involving ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
Paul, a mother of three, shares one child with Mortensen.
According to People, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department in Utah said earlier this week that there is an “open domestic assault investigation” involving Paul and Mortensen, and that “allegations have been made in both directions.”
Police told People that “contact was made with involved parties” back on Feb. 24 and 25.
ABC News has reached out to Mortensen for comment.
When asked for details on the investigation, the Draper Police Department shared a statement with ABC News, saying, “The Draper Police Department respects the rights and privacy of all citizens. Without an immediate impact to public safety, it is the practice of the department not to release details related to active investigations.”
Paul confirmed to Good Morning America that production on season 5 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been halted for the time being, saying, “As of now I have gotten word that it also has been paused.”
She added, “As far as I know it was, but I don’t know for how long.”
The reality star said it was “hard to say” what her future on the show might look like.
“It’s hard to see past this, I’m not going to lie. In this moment, it’s just so heavy,” she said.
She continued, “When your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines, it’s like the end of the world. That’s what it feels like.”
Despite the circumstances, Paul shared a glimmer of optimism, saying, “I’ve been here before and I got through it.”
Paul was announced as the next Bachelorette for season 22 of the reality TV show back in September.
The reality star spoke with GMA on Wednesday about her decision to join the show, offering perspective on her position as a mother of three and sharing that seeing other women on Secret Wives of Mormon Wives pursue their dreams inspired her to take a shot at the dating game.
“For me, dating as a mom of three is extremely difficult,” she said, adding that The Bachelorette offered a chance “to go out, get away from my toxic cycle here in Utah, go date and then also have my kids come out and visit me.”
“You don’t realize how … it can be exhausting too, but you’re finding the love of your life, that’s what you’re striving for,” she said.

Rom-com fans can spend their Valentine’s Day weekend at the movie theater watching the rerelease of an ’80s classic.
Pretty in Pink is returning to cinemas to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Paramount Pictures is partnering with Fathom Entertainment to put the classic coming-of-age rom-com back on the big screen worldwide.
The movie, which stars Molly Ringwald, Harry Dean Stanton, Jon Cryer, Annie Potts, James Spader and Andrew McCarthy, will be back in theaters Feb. 13 through Feb. 16.
Pretty in Pink was written and executive produced by John Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch. It tells the story of a teen girl named Andie (Ringwald) who lives on the other side of town. She has a thing for Blane (McCarthy), who is the high school’s wealthy heartthrob. He asks her to the prom, but their love story is threatened by peer pressure and Andie’s best friend, Duckie (Cryer).
This special 40th anniversary screening features a bonus “Filmmaker Focus” featurette with Deutch, who recounts memories of the movie’s production and talks about its lasting impact.
“For Generation X, Pretty in Pink captured the imaginations and hearts of moviegoers, and that legacy lives on today—forty years later—for movie lovers of all ages,” Ray Nutt, the chief executive officer at Fathom Entertainment, said in a statement. “Fathom is thrilled to return the movie to the big screen, newly remastered by Paramount Pictures from a 4K film transfer supervised by director Howard Deutch.”

The Housemaid is getting a sequel.
Lionsgate is planning a second film in the franchise due to the success of The Housemaid. The film has earned more than $75 million domestically and $133 worldwide in its first 17 days of release and will continue rolling out in more international territories as January goes on.
The sequel will be called The Housemaid’s Secret. It is based on the second novel in author Freida McFadden‘s book trilogy. This upcoming film has been in development for the past few months, according to Lionsgate, and has a planned production start for 2026.
Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone are expected to return to their roles of Millie Calloway and Enzo Accardi in the new film. The sequel project is being developed for director Paul Feig to return at the helm. Sweeney will executive produce while Feig also produces through his Pretty Dangerous Pictures alongside LauraFischer. Rebecca Sonnenshine will once again adapt McFadden’s words for the screen.
“It’s clear from both the global box office and from the outpouring on social media that audiences have responded strongly – and audibly – to the totally unique and truly theatrical experience of The Housemaid and want to know what happens next,” Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Adam Fogelson said. “The Housemaid’s Secret is another wildly thrilling book in Freida’s series that has captivated readers worldwide, and we look forward to translating it into a similarly rousing and riotous moviegoing experience.”
Feig said, “It’s been thrilling to see audiences around the world fall in love with The Housemaid and the incredible work of our talented cast and crew. We’re lucky that Freida McFadden has already extended Millie’s journey on the page, and that we get to work with Rebecca Sonnenshine and Lionsgate to bring this next story to audiences.”
The Housemaid follows a woman named Millie (Sweeney), who takes a job as a live-in housemaid for wealthy couple Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). What started as a dream job quickly becomes a dangerous and seductive game of secrets and scandal.
