Bennie Lee King was sentenced to 43 years for killing his 64-year-old wife, Alexis East King, in December.
The Patrick Springs man pleaded guilty in Patrick County Circuit Court on Friday and was sentenced to an amended charge of second-degree murder.
He has been charged with murder in the first-degree. 18 of those 43 years were suspended.
