Gas prices are down 1.1 cents per gallon in Virginia, averaging $2.82 today, according to GasBuddy. That’s 5.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 10.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
The national average has risen 5.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.94, up 7.8 cents from a month ago, and 10.1 cents lower than a year ago.
Locally, gas is $2.72 in Patrick County, $2.74 in Henry County, and $2.78 in Martinsville.
