Obituaries

Benny Frank Smith, 82, of Ridgeway, Virginia, met his Lord and Savior face to face Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina on July 11, 1943, to the late Paul Smith and Frances Viola Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Faye Smith; son, Hunter Smith; sister, Mary Kennedy; twin brother, Ben Smith; and brother Paul Smith, Jr.

Benny was a man of Chrisitan faith who loved the Lord and lived out his calling as a preacher, eagerly sharing his faith and pastoring God’s people. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church in Stuart, Virginia. After graduating High School, he worked in the textile industry for 25 years. Benny found contentment in being outdoors and particularly enjoyed fishing and trapping. He also liked going to flea markets and gun shows. Above all else, he was a loving father and husband who devoted his life to caring and providing for his family. Although his earthly presence is no longer here, heaven has welcomed him into perfect peace.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, June Ellen Smith; sons, Jeff Smith (Autumn), Danny Smith (Nancy); sister Susan Byerly (Ricky); grandchildren, Lucy Forbuss, Trenton Smith, Kirby Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

All services will be private. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and prayers that have been extended during their time of grief.
