Obituaries

David Louis Myers, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born November 4, 1945, in Chatham, Virginia, to the late Howard Myers, Jr. and Rocenous Fuller Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Quincy Myers; brother, Cecil Myers; and grandchild, Quintez Nibblett.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a dedicated employee at both Hooker Furniture as a sprayer operator and at Hanes Brand as a forklift driver for an accumulating 51 years. He embraced life wholeheartedly and enjoyed activities like softball, bowling, and word puzzles along with being a supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, David loved his family and spending time with them. The memories he created with his loved ones and friends will ensure that his life and legacy continue to live on.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma Myers; daughter, Pamela McLaughlin; sisters, Trudie Plunkett (Robert), Cluster Myers, Mable Roberts; brothers, Acie Myers (Geraldine), John Myers; godson, Jupiter Howard; and numerous extended family and friends.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. Interment will be at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to service. Family will receive visitors at 1156 Banner Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
