Obituaries

Gracie Ann Wells Ferguson, 91, of Bassett, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born October 3, 1934, in Bassett, Virginia to the late George Wells and Lucy Hairston Wells.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Henry Ferguson; son, Tony Joe Ferguson; sisters, Deloris Joyce, Queen E. Wells, Dorothy Hairston, Hazel Wells; brothers, J.B. Wells, Felix Wells, and Robert Wells.

Gracie was of the Christian faith and was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in Bassett, Virginia. She was a diligent worker and worked at Bassett Mirror Company for 30 years. Gracie loved talking with her sister about the great memories made throughout their lives as well as spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Loving on her grandchildren, as well as loving and serving God were her favorite past times. She loved sports of all kinds and watching the games. Gracie especially loved watching her Dallas Cowboys with which she was a great fan and the Atlanta Braves baseball games.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janie Johnson (Anthony), Jennifer Wade (Aaron, Jr); sons, Rickey Wells (Robin), Bobby W. Allen; brother, Marshall L. Wells, Sr. (Alberta), 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in Bassett, Virginia. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.
