Janet Thomas Craig, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab in Stanleytown, Virginia. She was born on September 3, 1938, in Woolwine, Virginia, to the late Callie Hill Thomas and Cora Esther Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Calvin Craig.

Janet was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She had a deep love for traveling, gardening, and sewing, and was happiest when surrounded by nature or creating something with her hands. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she took great pride in caring for her home and meeting the needs of her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Betty Craig Farmer (Michael) and Lisa Craig Smith (Wayne); her son, Marvin Lee Craig (Jan); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her cherished fur baby, Peppy; along with extended family members and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Pastor Payton Gilbert. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd, Virginia.
