Obituaries

Vicky Lynn Hodges Hines, 71, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was born November 14, 1954, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late George Kenneth Hodges and Imogene Joyce Duncan Hodges.

Vicky had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Midlothian, Virginia. She was a godly woman who prayed daily for her family and friends, enjoyed her women’s Bible study group, and faithfully recited a Bible verse for each letter of the alphabet as part of her daily routine.

She was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School, class of 1973, and later was employed by DuPont for 19 years as a spinning operator. Vicky loved the beach and spending time with her family, which meant everything to her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister, and a dear friend. She was full of joy and faced the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis with grace, never complaining. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Michael Ray Hines; daughter, Heather Kalill (Kenneth); son, Michael “Rob” Robert Hines; brother, Donald Ray Hodges (Susan); grandchildren, Leah Hines, Tyler Kalill, Ian Kalill, Cana Hines, and Selah Hines.

The funeral will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Palmer Lowery officiating. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive extended family and friends at the home.
