Virginia has officially adopted a master plan for the future Mayo River State Park in Henry County. The 637-acre park will be developed in phases over about 30 years as funding becomes available. Plans include a visitor center, camping and cabins, hiking and biking trails, river access, an accessible fishing pier and connections to North Carolina’s Mayo River State Park. The plan also emphasizes protecting natural and historic resources. Henry County is urging state funding.
