Appalachian Power is seeking proposals for up to 500 megawatts of energy storage in Virginia and 300 megawatts of regional capacity. The announcement comes less than three months after the utility bought nearly 1,202 acres at Patriot Center II in Henry County, although the company has not linked the developments. Proposals are due Sept. 30.
