Martinsville City Council is taking a hard look at its long list of boards, commissions, and committees that require over 100 volunteers while almost a third of the seats are vacant. First on the chopping block is the Citizens Advisory Board, a relatively new group formed in 2023 for the purpose of representing the concerns of citizens to council members. The mayor claims political factions have stunted their progress. Council will discuss the matter at its regular meeting next week.
