‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Sharna Burgess returning to ballroom for season 35

Sharna Burgess is officially returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.
On Monday, the longtime DWTS pro announced on Good Morning America that she will compete on the upcoming 35th season of the hit dance competition series, marking her first time competing on the show since season 30 in 2021.
“I’m back! Some of you guys guessed it. Yes, I am here with a special announcement to finally confirm I’m back on Dancing with the Stars, baby,” Burgess said. “I’m going to be competing for that Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. I can’t wait to be back in the ballroom with my dancing family, and mostly it feels so good to be coming home. I’ll see you all soon.”
The upcoming season will mark Burgess’ 15th season competing as a professional dancer on DWTS.
Burgess previously took home the Mirrorball Trophy with radio personality Bobby Bones in 2018 during season 27. Her last season as a competing pro was season 30 in 2021, when she was partnered with her now-fiancé, actor Brian Austin Green.
Burgess’ return comes as excitement builds for season 35. Several celebrity contestants have already been announced, including Summer House star Ciara Miller, The Traitors star Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality Guillermo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will be partnered with returning pro Witney Carson.
The rest of the DWTS season 35 cast will be revealed Sept. 2 on GMA.
DWTS season 35 will debut with a two-night premiere Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, streaming the next day on Hulu.

It’s a girl!
Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse have announced they are expecting a baby girl. The model and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star announced the sex of their first child on the second episode of Sprouse’s new podcast, Wildmen.
“We’ve been calling her principessa,” Sprouse said. “It’s Italian for princess.”
He continued, “We are having a baby girl, which I’m very excited about. … I’m excited to be a girl dad, actually.”
“You’re gonna be so stressed about the princess,” Palvin said, before Sprouse joked, “I just also unironically love a tea party.”
The couple announced that Palvin is pregnant with their first child in an Instagram post on May 14. Sprouse and Palvin were married on July 15, 2023, in Palvin’s home country of Hungary.
Later in the podcast, Palvin opened up about having endometriosis.
“We knew we wanted to get pregnant, but we also knew because I have endometriosis, we knew we wanted to get that surgery done before we start trying,” Palvin said.
In August 2025, Palvin revealed she’d had surgery for endometriosis in an Instagram post.
“For some years now I’ve been dealing with the difficulties that can come with my periods. Fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular flow, sleepless nights on the bathroom floor. I thought this was just how it works for me,” Palvin wrote. “[The surgery] helped me a lot, and I’m grateful I did it. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent long-term complications, and now I’m more mindful about my body to act fast if needed.”
Palvin ended her post by saying she is “excited about this new chapter of my life and now ready to get back to work.”

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts and ABC News national correspondent Will Reeve are celebrating the occasion by highlighting some of the nation’s greatest stories, triumphs and innovations in Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness.
Roberts says the special arrives at a time when many Americans are experiencing “so many complicated emotions” about the country.
“We had a chance to think about where this country has been, the diversity of this country, the inventiveness of this country, the difficulties that people have faced in this country so we sort of use that as a backdrop but to highlight so many things about our country,” she tells ABC Audio, mentioning her coverage of the Savannah Bananas, Pan Am flight attendants and more.
She notes the country has a lot to celebrate and reflect on, highlighting it’s beauty, uniqueness and resilience.
“This is a country that has not only been through a lot, we’ve been built through love and sweat and tears and sacrifice, but there’s also a lot to look at and to stand in wonder of,” Roberts says. “There are a lot of moments that are worth celebrating and also moments that are worth…contemplating and wondering…how we might be better and stronger as a country.”
Ultimately, Roberts hopes the special gives viewers a sense of joy.
“There are a lot of people who might be a little conflicted right now because of the politics in this country about how they feel about celebrating,” she says. “I hope people will take away a real feeling of depth and of heart and exploration from this special and also too, of course, just some fun.”
Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness airs Monday at 8 p.m. ETon ABC and streams next day on Disney+ and Hulu, with Roberts hosting from Walt Disney World Resort and Reeve from Disneyland.

Nomination day is here for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.
The nominations were announced Wednesday by Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear and Jeff Hiller from Somebody Somewhere.
The 2026 Emmys will be held at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 14. The ceremony will air on NBC and stream live on Peacock.
Mariska Hargitay will host the 78th Emmys ceremony, becoming the first woman to host the awards show in 15 years.
The Pitt leads this year’s drama categories with 25 nominations. Hacks has set the record for the most nominations in a single year in the comedy categories with 24. The previous record was held jointly by TheStudio in 2025 and The Bear in 2024. Those shows each have 23 nominations this year, respectively.
