What happens to an aging serial killer? The season 2 trailer for Dexter: Resurrection shows Michael C. Hall’s killer-with-a-code Dexter Morgan as he grapples with that very question.
The trailer picks up with Dexter talking to someone on his kill table.
“I’m Dexter Morgan, the Bay Harbor Butcher,” he tells them. “Who?” they reply.
“Kids today, no sense of history,” Dexter laments.
We then see Dexter dealing with the realities of being in his 50s, as he crosses paths with both a veteran serial killer, played by Brian Cox, and a young, new murderer terrorizing New York City, played by Dan Stevens.
Dexter: Resurrection season 2, also starring Uma Thurman, Jack Alcott and James Remar, premieres on Paramount+ Oct. 30.
More new cast members are joining stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams for season 2 of the Crave/HBO Max hockey romance drama.
Young Royals star Edvin Ryding is on board to play rookie hockey player Luca Haas, with Robert Naylor set to play goalie Wyatt Hayes — both teammates of Storrie’s Ilya Rozanov.
Schitt’s Creek actress Emily Hampshire will play Vanessa and Canada’s Drag Race star Priyanka will play Tarek, friends of the character Fabian Salah, whose casting has yet to be announced. Sabrina Jalees will play hockey agent Farah Jalali.
The casting follows the announcement last week that Charlie Gillespie and Justice Smith would be playing love interests Troy Barrett and Harris Drover, respectively.
Heated Rivalry, created by Jacob Tierney, is based on the Game Changers book series by Rachel Reid and follows the rivals to lovers story of Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander (Williams).
Season 2 is currently in production. It’s set to premiere in spring 2027.

Rupert Grint is headed back to Hogwarts.
The actor, who portrayed Ron Weasley in all eight of the Harry Potter films, is reprising the role of the Gryffindor wizard on Broadway.
Grint is joining the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for a 17-week engagement starting on Feb. 2, 2027. His time in the role is scheduled to last through May 30, 2027.
Grint follows in the footsteps of Tom Felton, who originated Draco Malfoy in the films and has been playing the adult version of the character in the production over the last year. Felton has extended his run in the production many times.
Felton is currently expected to exit the show on Jan. 3, 2027, meaning at this time his Broadway run won’t overlap with Grint’s.
In a statement shared with Deadline, Grint said, “Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again in this stage of life. There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron’s shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new. And the joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting.”
He continued, “The first time I saw Cursed Child onstage I was blown away and I can’t wait to set foot back on Platform 9 ¾ and pick up where I left off. I am overjoyed to join this exceptional cast and crew at the Lyric Theatre this winter.”
The play continues the Harry Potter story 19 years after the events of the book series and film franchise. It follows the children of Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco, who now all attend Hogwarts together.
Robert De Niro enjoyed working with Ariana Grande on their upcoming comedy Focker-In-Law — but he has yet to see her in Wicked, the movie that earned her an Oscar nomination.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the legendary actor said, “I didn’t see her movie, and I still am trying to see it, believe it or not, but I want to see it. I’m going to see it with my daughter. And she’s, of course, seen it.”
Despite missing Wicked, De Niro tells EW he was aware of Ariana because “I had seen her in some stuff with my daughter, some sitcom thing she had done. I’m forgetting the name. My kid was into that. I was aware of her then and, of course, aware of her in other ways. She was great.”
De Niro was likely referring to one of Ariana’s Nickelodeon shows, Victorious or Sam & Cat.
The actor, who’s 82, praised Ari’s work in Focker-In-Law as Olivia, the girlfriend of Henry Focker, who’s the grandson of De Niro’s character, Jack.
“She was very professional,” he says. “She’s terrific and very quick and got it all. She was very much part of the whole process.”
