Obituaries

Estelle Willard, 88, of Bassett, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at her home. She was born on May 14, 1934, in Martinsville to the late John Witt and the late Neacy Spencer Witt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Willard; brothers, Troy Witt, Dewey Witt and Lewis Witt; sister Ester Claybrook.

Estelle is survived by 2 sons, Ernie J. Willard and Bobby J. Willard; daughter, Rebecca Scott; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Witt and Glenn Witt; sister, Betty McAlexander; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassett with Speaker Wayne Clark officiating.
