Obituaries

Ethel Juanita Drewery, 76, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born on January 17, 1949, in Henry, Virginia, to the late George Watkins Moore and Betty Jane Crews Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Newton Drewery; grandson, Chase Conely Crum; four brothers, Rural Moore, Frank Moore, Paul Moore, and Donnie Moore; and three sisters, Louise Atkins, Geraldine Martin, and Katy Nickels

Juanita dedicated many years of service to Stanley Furniture before retiring. She was a devoted member of Wayside Tabernacle Holiness Church. She cherished time spent at home with her family and found great joy in loving and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Carlton Drewery; daughter, Martha Elizabeth Crum; son, Bernard Timothy Drewery; two grandchildren, Timothy Paul Drewery and Michael Paul Murray; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Drewery, Timothy Paul Drewery, Jr., and Ava Bailey; two sisters, Virginia Quesenberry and Mae Moore; two brothers, Roger Moore and Bobby Moore; along with extended family members and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Ray Craiger officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
