James Larry Wells, Jr., 66, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late James Larry Wells, Sr. and Bernice Jenkins Wells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sonja Pelsinger, and his brother, Kenneth Wells.

James worked at Stanleytown Furniture, where he was employed for fifteen years. He had a deep love for his family, his dog, and found enjoyment working on automobiles and fishing.

He leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends who will cherish his memory and the time they shared with him.

Although services are private, the family wishes to express their profound gratitude for all of the love, prayers, and many good deeds sent their way during this time of grief.
