Obituaries

Jerry Bernard Yellock, 63, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Piney Forest Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Virginia. He was born March 29, 1962, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Eddie J. Yellock and the late Willie Fuller Yellock.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Maxine Greene Yellock; five brothers, Otis L. Yellock, Joe L. Yellock, Johnny R. Yellock, Michael A. Yellock, Calvin F. Yellock; and one sister, Minnie Y. Hairston.

Jerry became a member at Mt. Sinai Apostle Church in Martinsville, Virginia, at an early age. He enjoyed watching old western movies. He loved making people laugh. Jerry was one of a kind. He was very smart and full of life, despite his life challenges. He loved his family and friends very deeply.

Jerry is survived by four sisters, Evangelist Doris Yates of Martinsville, Virginia, Deborah Pritchett (Warren) of Mount Vernon, New York, Jennifer Gamble (Leon) of Durham, North Carolina, and guardian/caregiver, Peggy Wilson (Percy) of Ridgeway, Virginia; three brothers, Edwin Fuller of San Diego, California, James Yellock of Chester, Pennsylvania, Joel F. Fuller of New Rochelle, New York, a special childhood friend, Alvin Grey (Baby Boy), and many extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 12:15 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112, with Evangelist Doris Yates providing the eulogy. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel.
