Obituaries

John Wayne Craig, 51, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Friendship South in Roanoke, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Roger Craig, his grandparents Capp and Vinia Willard, Harry and Rosie Craig and sister, Barbara Ayers.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie, and children Jacob, Michael, Katie and Alex, his siblings, Sue Beaugé (Raymond), Robert Ramsey (Judy), Marie Ferguson (Earl), Glenda Collins (Bill) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

John loved life! He touched the people he knew without trying. He was a light in the world to his family. John loved to play guitar and sing. He did impressions as a child. John never minded being the center of attention. When John became unable to walk, he would “chair dance” and he would laugh! John had many struggles in his life for one so young, but he was strong. He fought for every moment! But one day our glorious and merciful Father said, “John, it’s time to come home, your struggles are done”. John walked into the loving arms of Jesus and his Mama and the rest of his joyous family in Heaven.

Special thanks to the kind staff at Friendship South, especially Jessica and special friend, Betty McAbee. Also, special thanks to our pastor, Wes Belcher of Daleville Baptist Church for ministering to our family during this difficult time.

Services will be held Saturday, February 1st, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Wes Belcher officiating. Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service.
