Obituaries

Marilyn Marie “Molly” Dodson Braxton, 65, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab. She was born October 10, 1957, in Spencer, Virginia, to the late Robert Lee Beal and Nannie Mae Dodson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Annie E. Dodson, Jessie Mullins and Mary E. Dodson; and brothers, Charles Dodson, Eugene Dodson and John Henry Watkins.

She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed C & R Bible Quiz Challenge, bingo and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Molly is survived by her daughter, Tawanda Dodson; sons, Charles Dodson and Thomas Joe Braxton, III; sister, Nannie Mae Wright; brother, Samson Dodson; half-brother, Arthur Beal; and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:30 A. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with visitation thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park, Spencer, Virginia. Friends will also be welcome at other times from 11:00 A. M. to 8:00 P. M. at the home of her son, Charles Dodson, 2610 The Great Road, Fieldale, Virginia 24089.
