Michael “Shane” Wilson, 39, of Evington, Virginia, entered his eternal rest Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia, on November 3, 1986, to Denise Dawn Helm and Michael Neal Wison (Debra Brown Wilson).

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Caroll Wilson.

Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was of the Baptist faith. Michael was a jokester and loved to make people laugh and smile. He loved his family fiercely, loved spending time with them, doing all kinds of things with them, taking care of them and making them feel the love he had for them. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Seahawks fan and enjoyed music of all genres. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will always be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Aaden Wilson, Tori Newton and Donovan Newton; fiancé, Kimberly Driskill; sisters, Crystal Brewer, Christine Wilson, and Kellie Manning; brothers, Lee Medlin and Noah Burnham; paternal grandmother, Doris Wilson; two nieces; seven nephews; cousins and numerous extended family and friends.

The funeral will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Ricky Carter and Minister Tamara Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support that has been shown during their time of grief.
