Obituary For Ramon Lance Rea

Ramon Lance Rea, 83, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1941, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Henry Lee Rea and Della Craig Rea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tabatha Rea; four brothers, Robert Rea, Cornell Rea, Everett Rea, and Aubrey Rea; and four sisters, Vada Southhall, Ada Priddy, Virgie Foley, and Linda Hylton.

Ramon proudly served in the United States Army. He dedicated 45 years of service to Bassett Walker as a District Plant Manager before retiring as the Assistant Vice President at Pluma after 13 years. He attended Faith Baptist Church and had a deep love for the Lord. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether deer hunting, gardening, tending to his yard, or working on cars as a mechanic and painter, he enjoyed staying active and hands-on.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Barbara Graham Rea; his son, Raymon Lance Rea (Kimberly); grandson, Raymond Cody Rea; brother, Russell Rea (Mary); along with extended family members and cherished friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church, with Pastor Roy McVey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
