Aerofarms update, arctic front arrives, casino revenue rises

The closure of indoor Aerofarms in Pittsylvania County is now set for February 27. The company had previously announced this past December 19 would be the day after an investor of the indoor farm pulled funding. An infusion of funds changed plans, but it appears to have been short-term.

The passage of an arctic front today will also be the arrival of bitter cold temperatures expected to remain for the first half of the week. We could get some mixed precipitation today and another chance of some more next weekend.

Revenue at Caesar’s in Danville was up over $2 million from the previous month as the casino continues to outpace others in the state. November revenue stood at just under $36 million, compared to Portsmouth with $26.7 million and Bristol with $22.7 million.
