Christopher Miller slams ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ footage leak: ‘Not a fan’

Footage from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has leaked, and Chris Miller is speaking out about it.
Four-and-a-half minutes of footage from the upcoming third film in the animated Spider-Verse franchise appeared in a recent unauthorized leak online. Its co-writer and producer Miller took to X to disavow the leak in a post Friday.
“Not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage,” Miller wrote.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 18, 2027. It has been delayed multiple times already.
It’s unclear where this leaked footage came from, however, Sony showed off footage from the film at CinemaCon back in April.
The film continues the story of Miles Morales’ journey as the webslinging superhero after 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its 2023 sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Phil Lord and Miller produce the movie and co-wrote it with David Callaham. Directors Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti are also producers.
Shameik Moore stars once again as the voice of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse while Hailee Steinfeld reprises her role as Spider-Gwen.

The list for the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2027 is in.
On Thursday, Walk of Famers Ming-Na Wen and Sheila E. joined Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ron Frierson to announce the list of names to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027.
Among the names receiving stars are Keke Palmer, Pedro Pascal and Lisa Kudrow.
Dakota and Elle Fanning will also be the first sister duo to get a double star ceremony.
Country music icon Waylon Jennings, who died in 2002, will also receive a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.
“This class continues the proud legacy of the Walk of Fame,” Frierson said during a press conference about the 2027 Walk of Fame class at Funko Hollywood. “This year’s honorees reflect the breadth, diversity and imagination of the entertainment community: Performers whose voices moved us, storytellers who expanded our view of the world, visionaries who brought unforgettable characters to life and trailblazers whose influence will be felt for generations to come.”

Legendary director James Burrows has died, his agent confirmed to ABC News on Friday. He was 85.
Burrows is known for directing some of the most iconic shows on television, from Cheers and Taxi to Will & Grace and Frasier.
Throughout his illustrious career, Burrows won 11 Emmys and five Directors Guild of America Awards. The Directors Guild of America also honored Burrows in 2015 with a lifetime achievement award. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2006.
“Jimmy was the greatest comedic television director in the history of the medium,” his agent, Rick Rosen, said in a statement to ABC News. “He directed the most iconic, defining shows of generations. Always a gentleman, it was an absolute honor to represent him.”
Born on Dec. 30, 1940, Burrows made his mark across many television shows in the mid 1970s, directing episodes for several television series in 1975 including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis and The Bob Newhart Show.
He also helmed episodes of Laverne & Shirley, The Betty White Show, Rhoda and more, before a long stint as director for the TV sitcom Taxi starting in 1978. Burrows directed the first four seasons of the series, which focused on the everyday lives of New York City taxi drivers.
While speaking to the Television Academy in 2025, Burrows said his job as a director on Taxi was to “mold” the actors “into an ensemble.”
“I’m not sure how much the actors learned from me, but I learned a lot about how to deal with people because of that show,” he said.
Following Taxi, Burrows directed several other TV shows as well as the 1988 television movie The Nerd, prior to directing Cheers starting in 1982. He was also a co-creator on the show, and directed 237 episodes.
In 2003, Burrows told Conan O’Brien that it was a “wonderful experience.”
“It was so smooth, it was scary, how the process went,” Burrows said about the writing, cast and crew.
The show won a total of 28 Primetime Emmy Awards, with Burrows winning two for directing.
Burrows went on to direct more television shows after Cheers, including Frasier, Will & Grace and Friends.
When asked in an interview in 2003 by the Television Academy about how he wanted to be remembered, Burrows said, “That every night forever you can tune in somewhere and there’ll be a show I did.”

Julianne Nicholson has been cast in season 2 of Task.
The actress is set to reprise her Mare of Easttown role as Lori Ross in the upcoming season of Task, ABC Audio has confirmed.
This directly connects the shows Task and Mare of Easttown. Both were created by Brad Ingelsby and take place in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Now they exist in the same universe.
Nicholson won an Emmy in 2021 for portraying Lori Ross, a mother of three children who resides in Easttown, in Mare of Easttown.
Season 2 of Task follows star Mark Ruffalo once again taking on the role of Agent Tom Brandis.
“Tom Brandis takes the helm of a new task force, but the deeper the operation runs, the harder it is to tell who’s the target,” according to the season’s official logline.
Also starring are Mahershala Ali as Eddie Barnes, Harry Melling as Brennan Boylan, Adam Nagaitis as Luke Clemmons, Aminah Nieves as Nataly Zamora and Edgar Ramírez as Miguel Contreras.
In addition to creating the show, Ingelsby serves as its writer, showrunner and executive producer. Ruffalo also executive produces. Task season 2 is currently in preproduction, according to HBO.
