Virginia State Police will boost patrols over Labor Day weekend, especially Friday and Monday, the busiest travel days. Troopers will target speeding, impaired and distracted driving, and seat belt violations. Virginia recorded 480 traffic deaths through August, down from 542 last year. The holiday enforcement period runs from early Friday through midnight Monday.
