Obituary For Betty Davidson Carter

Betty Davidson Carter passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at King’s Grant. Betty was born on July 28,1934 in Penhook, Virginia to the late George R. and Archie Slayton Davidson. She had been married to her late husband, Lonzie N. Carter, for 56 years. Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Rucker L. Carter of Ridgeway, Virginia, her son, Benny C. Carter of Collinsville and her grandson, Philip M. Carter of Memphis, Tennessee. Betty was also preceded in death by her 5 sisters and 4 brothers.

Betty lived most of her adult life in Ridgeway, Virginia and was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda F. Carter of Memphis, Tennessee; two sons, Allen W. Carter (Loretta) of Martinsville, Virginia and Douglas R. Carter (Lorna) of Blue Ridge, Virginia. She is also survived by her grand-children, Crystal C. Young, Tyler R. Carter, Chase M. Carter,

Elizabeth C. Luke, Jenna C. Ali, Teresa C. Jackson, Nathan R. Carter and Jessica L. Carter. Betty also has 10 great-grandchildren, including Carter Young and Austin Young of Martinsville, Virginia.

A graveside service honoring Betty will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Roselawn Burial Park.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Betty online or by mail to Stone Memorial Christian Church, 3030 Virginia Avenue, Collinsville, Virginia 24078 or to the Fellowship Fund at King’s Grant, 350 King’s Way Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
