Obituaries

Brian Lee Murphy, 39, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born January 22, 1983, in Martinsville, to the late David Abbott, Sr. and Shirley Ann Murphy. He had been employed by Nilit of America. He loved his children, eating, working and just talking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Thomason.

Brian is survived by his wife, Jennifer Bishop Murphy; sons, Matthew Murphy, Blake Murphy and Justin Murphy; sister, Sue Doyle; brothers, David Lee Abbott, Jr., Michael Abbott, Jeff Abbott and Greg Abbott; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2022, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The graveside service will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with funeral expenses may be made to Wright Funeral Service.
