Charlottemaine Shanta Auston, 71, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 23, 1953, in Arkansas to the late Isabelle Austin and Harold “Billie” Watson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Henry Baker, three sisters, and two brothers.

Ms. Auston was an incredibly devoted and compassionate person, whose faith and dedication to her family and ministry left a lasting impact on those around her. Her love for her family, her generosity, and her commitment to spreading God's word would have made her a cherished member of her community. Ministers like her often play an essential role in supporting and guiding others spiritually, and it seems she did so with warmth and kindness.

She is survived by her daughter, Martina Marie Baker; son, Leon Baker and wife, Holly; three sisters, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
