Danita Nicole Johnson, 30, of Martinsville, Virginia, gained her wings on Monday, December 23, 2024, at her residence. Born on November 26, 1994, she was the beloved daughter of Darrell L. Johnson and Bonita Redd Johnson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Ammie Redd, and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Johnson.

Danita was a beacon of light and joy in the lives of those who knew her. She graduated from Magna Vista High School in the class of 2013 and was employed at the PHS Autism Center, where her compassionate heart and dedication to helping others shined brightly. A true blessing to her parents and her sister, Danisha and her brother-in-law, Barry Holland. She was undoubtedly a daddy’s girl, cherished deeply by her family.

Her greatest love was her two sons, Alijah and Jru Johnson, with whom she shared countless moments. Danita also enjoyed spending time with her friends, grilling, cooking out, and creating lasting memories with her family.

Danita leaves behind to cherish her memory, her father, Darrell Johnson; her mother, Bonita Johnson; two sons, Alijah Johnson and Jru Johnson; her sister, Danisha Holland (Barry); her uncle, Roy Redd; her aunts, Tammy Johnson and Beatrice Johnson; and a host of great uncles, great aunts, other family members, and friends both near and far.

A funeral service to honor Danita's life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024, at 3:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Leander Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. The burial will be private.
