Obituaries

Frank Morris Johnson, Jr., 74, of Ridgeway, Virginia transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born June 9, 1950, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Frank Morris Johnson, Sr. and Dovie Via Johnson.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era from 1969 to 1973 and retired from Dupont after a dedicated twenty-nine years of employment. He was a member of Ridgeway Primitive Baptist Church and a 1968 graduate of G. W. Carver High School. In his free time, you could find Frank in the great outdoors, hunting or fishing; sometimes you could find him in the kitchen cooking up a special treat. His greatest treasure was the time spent, and love shared with his family.

He is survived by daughters, LaTanya Alexander Washington and Amanda Robinson; sisters, Doris Redd (John), Gloria Johnson, and Debbie Strickland (Clarence); brothers, Michael Johnson (Cynthia) and Kevin Johnson; grandchildren, Caryn Edwards, and Tanaya Washington.

The funeral will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church ,50 Old Zigler School Lane Spencer, Virginia with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Interment will follow at Mack Johnson Cemetery, 100 Old Zigler School Road. Military Honors will be presented by The Martinsville & Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends and extended family at the home, November 22, 2024 – November 25, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
