Obituary For Irma Louise Easley

Irma Louise Easley, 78, of Martinsville, Virginia, peacefully departed this life at her home on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born on June 6, 1946, to Edith Irene Barner of Bassett, Virginia.

Irma was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alton Wesley Easley; her mother, Edith Barner; two brothers, Elmer Ray Barner and Edward Lee Barner; one grandson, Jairus Barner; and a great-granddaughter, Chaveona Martin.

Irma received her education from Carver High School, after school she dedicated 40 years of service and retired from Bassett Furniture. After retirement she continued working at McDonald's, where she earned a reputation as the best biscuit maker around. A devoted member of Full Gospel Holiness Church, she deeply loved the Lord and didn’t mind given Him Praise! She faithfully served in various ministries at Full Gospel, including as a Church Mother and as a dedicated member of the Usher and Culinary Ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory are her daughters, Edwinia (Laymond) Vaughn. Iris Williams, Marcella (Juan) Ross.; her son, Michael (Estelle) Barner, all of Martinsville, Virginia; her bonus daughter, Melissa Waller. She is also survived by her two sisters, Velma Manns and Betty Barner of Bassett, Virginia; her brother, Calvin (Lynn) Barner of Bassett, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Refuge Temple Ministries, officiated by Pastor Jonta Martin. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Irma Easley.

Mom was really loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all. This is not goodbye, Mama, but see you later.
