Lane Carroll Thomasson, 65, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 27, 2024. He was born on May 25, 1959, in Salisbury, Maryland to Fleshman Delano Thomasson, who survives him, and the late Mabel Gaenell Wyatt Thomasson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Courtney Thomasson, and his brother, John Frank Thomasson.

Lane honorably served in the United States Army and the Virginia National Guard. He found joy in fishing, spending time in nature, and cherishing time spent with his family, friends, and his beloved fur babies.

Along with his father, Fleshman Delano Thomasson, Lane is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Teresa Thomasson; his daughter, Jessica Ashleigh Thomasson; two sisters, Melinda Daubin (Enrique) and Amy Thomasson (David Harris); as well as a host of other family members and friends.

A funeral service to honor Lane’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Todd Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at Christian View Christian Church Cemetery.
